INDIVIDUAL HOPI POTTERY

Jean Sahmie HUGE Hopi Masterwork Cylinder Pot

This is authentic hand made and hand painted pottery by Jean Sahmie a premier potter from the Hopi tribe. Jean's work is of the highest quality and is strongly collected. This is a very large cylinder measuring 10 inches in height and 5 3/4 inches in diameter and is decorated with a traditional pattern of Hopi parrots, cornstalks, human figures and open palms. The figure hiding behind one of the cornstalks is truly striking. Note how the parrot figure is incorporated into the stem of the cornstalk, and how the open palm symbol seems to emerge as a leaf off the corn.. The pot has the brilliant color of Hopi pottery and is polished to an incredible shine. The pot shown here is a signature Jean Sahmie creation that will enhance any collection of Southwestern Pueblo pottery. The pot is in perfect condition, with no scratches, chips, or other defects. And is signed by Jean's hallmark.
