Nyla Sahmie Mosaic Seed Pot Hopi Pottery

Nyla Sahmie was born into the Corn Clan at Hopi in 1954, the daughter of famed Hopi potter Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo. This is a family that literally bursts with talent in making pottery. Nyla's siblings include Rachel Sahmie, Jean sahmie, and Bonnie Chapella N

Nyla's work includes the making of seed jars, vases, and wedding vases decorated with traditional Hopi symbols such migrations, double humming birds, flowers, and mosaic designs.

The pottery pictured here is a modern seed pot designs and is decorated with a mosaic pattern. It measures 4 inches tall by 7 inches wide, is free of any defects and it is signed by Nyla.
