INDIVIDUAL SANTA CLARA POTTERY

Bernice Naranjo Audubon Santa Clara Pueblo Pot

Bernice Naranjo is the famous mother of famed Santa Clara potters Dusty Naranjo and Forrest Naranjo and a look at her work sees where the children get their talent. The pot is magnificently polished and the sgrafitto work on it is simply superb. It is also elaborately and precisely incised with several, and accurately depicted images of birds that are also designated with their names along the figures. This is indeed a truly unique, rare piece by Bernice that is also of good size by her standards. The high degree of polish on the pottery is evident in the pictures.

The pot pictured here measures 6 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches wide and is in mint condition without defects of any kind and bears the characteristic signature of Bernice a circle with two lines and a dot.
