Joe Chavarria Red Avanyu/Feather Santa Clara Pot

Joe Chavarria is the son of master potter Vickie Martinez and only in his early twenties. Yet, his talent is evident in the pottery he produces and he is a favorite with collectors already.

This pot shown here is decorated with an avanyu done in most impressive carving and polishing manner. It also has feathers running down from the top, equally deeply and expertly carved. The pot measures 9 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches wide. It is in mint condition and is signed by Joe.
