Yolanda P. Trujillo Acoma Parrot Wedding Vase Pottery
Yolanda Trujillo was born February 7, 1963 in Acoma, the daughter of Harold and Rebecca Pasquale, and was taught the art of making pottery by her mother and grandmother. She has produced fine pottery in the form of vases and wedding vases decorated with the Acoma parrot and other polychrome patterns.
Unfortunately, Yolanda passed away a few years ago leaving behind her a legacy of precisely painted and solidly slipped Acoma pottery.
The wedding vase pictured here measures 8 inches high by 8 inches in diameter at its widest part. The Acoma parrot id brilliantly combined with a fine-line starburst pattern and other geometric elements. Yolanda, as usual, put considerable thought in this work.
