INDIVIDUAL ACOMA POTTERY

Theresa Salvador Traditional/Unique Parrot Acoma Pot

Theresa Salvador is a member of the Red Corn Clan at Acoma, and has been making pottery since 1989. She has developed a great reputation for her lightning pattern and parrot designs. These are the designs of traditional Acoma potters and Theresa executes them with flair. The parrot pattern shown here adheres to the traditional colors and lines of Acoma and is a fine example of Theresa's work. The pot is signed by Theresa.

This is a large pot, measuring 8 1/2 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches wide.

The decoration on the pot, including fine lines and traditional polychrome symbols is essentially unique for Theresa. It is certainly the first one like it that I've seen from this potter.
