Yolanda Velarde Long-Neck Beauty Santa Clara Pottery

Yolanda Velarde, was born on January 9, 1961 and has been active in pottery making since she was about 23 years old. She concentrates on black on black vases, seed jars and bowls. She is known for the quality of her polish and has won prizes in various exhibitions throughout the Southwest, such as Eight Northern Indian Pueblo Arts & Crafts Show and the Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Show. Her favorite designs are feathers water serpents, and Kiva steps.

The present vase is decorated with traditional designs and is polished to a mirror-like finish. It measures 8 1/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide.
