Verda Toledo Jemez Pottery Bowl with Turtle and Birds

Verda Toledo was born June 30, 1941 and has been active making pottery since 1998. She was taught the art of pottery making by Thomas Tenorio. Verda makes striking and boldly painted bowls and pottery with a decor that goes directly to the traditional motifs of her ancestors. She also combines fine lines with her bold painting that makes her pottery all the more striking.

The bowl pictured here shows two long beaked birds picking at a turtle along with geometric patterns. The pot measures 4 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches wide.
