Shawna Garcia-Rustin Acoma Eggshell Pottery
Shawna Garcia Rustin was born 12/31/69 and was taught the art of working the clay by her father, Elliot Garcia. She is known for the delicacy of her designs and the light weight of her pottery. Shawna Garcia works with Patrick Rustin (signed S. Garcia-Rustin) to create some of the best hand-coiled, traditionally hand painted Acoma pieces decorated with "Fine-line" designs that is being made today.
Shawna has won many awards, including the very prestigious BEST OF SHOW at the New Mexico State Fair !!!
The piece shown is one of Shawna's creations and is as light as a feather. This eggshell thin piece gives the impression that it will float away from the hand that holds it. It measures 4 3/4 tall by 5 in wide.
