Carol Lucero Gachupin Jemez Pottery: Bear with Honney

Carol Lucero Gachupin was born in Jemez Nov. 19, 1958, the daughter of Margarita Lucero. She is the sister of Mary R. Lucero and is related to Mary G. Romero (Laura Gachupin's mother) who taught her how to make pottery. Carol specializes in polychrome storytellers, jars and bowls, often in Hopi, Pueblo or Navajo styles. Carol is known for the sharpness of her lines on pottery decorations and the overall neatness of her work.

The present offering is a beautiful, very expressive bear storyteller with a honey pot that measures 6.5 inches tall. Note the dripping honey and the baby bears!
