Luly Villalba Rabbit Effigy Mata Ortiz Pottery
Luly Villalba is the daughter of Andres Villalba who made a name for himself by establishing the tradition of decorating his pottery in Mata Ortiz with ancient Paquime designs. Andres passed away in 2001, but his chikdren, Kuly, and his sons, Sabino and Carlos, continue and extend and also improve the art.
This rabbit effigy was made by Luly Villalba using only local clays and firing outdoors.
The pot measures 10 inches in height and 6 inches wide at its widest point.
