INDIVIDUAL MATA ORTIZ POTTERY
-
Rodrigo Perez Stunning Geometric Pattern on Huge Olla
Rodrigo Perez is gaining a reputation for artistic talents that combine traditional motifs with new art. The present olla is a huge creation, reminiscent of line of line motifs of the great Pilo Mora, but entirely distinct and impressive in its own right.
The present vase is decorated angled lines that cover the entire surface of the pot and has a dazzling effect on the onlooker. This is huge piece, measuring 16 inches tall (without base) by 10 inches in diameter.
The pot was the recipient of second place in the last Concurs, the pottery juried competition in Mata Ortiz.
